Sakinah Foundation was founded on December 23, 2021, out of a heartfelt desire to bring peace (Sakinah) and dignity to vulnerable groups in our community. What started as a small grassroots initiative has grown steadily, officially becoming a registered Community-Based Organization (CBO) in 2024.
From the beginning, our work has centered around empowering teenage girls through sexual education, caring for widows, feeding street families, and donating sanitary ware to ensure no one is left behind due to poverty or stigma.
As we continue to grow, so does our vision.
Recognizing the broader needs facing today’s youth, we are now expanding our focus to support all teenagers, regardless of gender. Our goal is to equip young people with knowledge, confidence, and support systems that empower them to make informed choices, live healthy lives, and become active contributors to their communities.
At Sakinah Foundation, we believe that when teenagers are educated, safe, and supported, they can break cycles of poverty and inequality. With the support of our community, volunteers, and partners, we’re building a future where every young person has the opportunity to thrive with dignity, respect, and purpose.

Sakinah Foundation began as a small, community-led initiative driven by a passion to serve and uplift the most vulnerable. With limited resources but a strong sense of purpose, we began by reaching out to teenage girls, widows, and street families—offering them education, support, and essential necessities. These early efforts laid the foundation for the growing impact we continue to make today.
Since our founding, Sakinah Foundation has grown from a small grassroots effort into a recognized Community-Based Organization. Through our programs in sexual education, youth empowerment, and community aid, we've reached hundreds of young people, supported widows, and provided food and hygiene supplies to street families. As we expand our focus to include all teenagers, we continue to build stronger, more resilient communities—one life at a time.
